18-Month Residency for emerging directors
The Regional Theatre Young Director’s Scheme (RTYDS) is the UK’s longest running training scheme for young theatre directors. The scheme provides exceptional professional training for the directors and artistic directors of the future.

Applications are now open for the RTYDS’s 18-Month Residency for individual emerging directors.

This paid residency (£19,000 gross per annum) is for talented emerging directors who have no less than 18 months professional experience and clear commitment to a career as a director.

Applications are now open and the deadline to apply is noon Monday 4th August.

The participating theatres this year are:

Birmingham Repertory Theatre
Northern Stage
Royal & Derngate, Northampton
Salisbury Playhouse

Each theatre will take one resident director for a period of 18 months; the residency will begin in January 2015.
